God desires for us to grow deeper in our relationship with Him. This happens when we read the Bible, practice the disciplines and discover the giftings He has given us.

We are to be Biblically Obedient by reading, understanding and practicing the teachings found in Scripture. Our life should be directed by God’s Word and wherever we are not in alignment with the Bible, we should be open to correction and change in our lives. There are many authorities in our lives, but God’s Word should be the highest.

KNOW YOUR SHAPE

Know your SHAPE by understanding how you are uniquely made to serve. SHAPE stands for Spiritual Gifts, Heart (passion), Abilities, Personality, and Experiences in life. When we know how God has wired us, we are more freely able to enjoy our service to Him in our area of giftedness.

THOUGHTS ON GROWING DEEPER

Keep a journal to chart your progress | Consider having a journal to record your thoughts, prayers, answered prayers, and what God is revealing to you. This will help you see that you are moving forward in your relationship with Him.

Have a plan to follow | Purchase a devotional, concordance, study Bible, or commentary to supplement your Bible reading. You can also check out YouVersion.com or Biblegateway.com to download an app that has Bible reading programs.

Obey the parts of the bible you haven’t underlined | It’s easy to read Scripture and only focus on doing the parts we like. We have to be willing to allow all of Scripture to speak into every area of our lives.
