
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
MEETING: Wednesday, August 21st | 7pm
We will be hosting a special congregational meeting that we need every member to attend. The City of Calgary has increased the levy fees for our land, which has raised the overall purchase price. This requires a meeting to approve the new price. If you have not watched Pastor Mark’s explanation of levy fees and the plan for how we anticipate paying for that increase, please watch the video below.
This meeting will be available in person and online. However, please note that members watching online will not be able to ask questions during the meeting. Therefore, we encourage you to submit any questions in advance using the link below.
The Motion
On February 25, 2018, Beddington Pentecostal Church voted in favour of buying land located on the corner of Country Hills Blvd. and 11th st, described as lot 3 Block 1, Plan 8910090. NE. Calgary for $925,000.00 an acre plus closing cost. Since 2018, the city of Calgary has increased its levy fee price in the amount of $67,212.63 per acre. The new price per acre for the land is $992,212.63.
Therefore, the new price for the land is SIX MILLION NINE HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY-EIGHT DOLLARS AND FORTY-TWO CENTS ($6,945,488.42) subject to the adjustments based on the size of the land.
The Purchase Price is determined based on an area of land of 7 acres. If on Plan Registration the Lands are more or less than 7 acres, the Purchase Price will be increased or decreased proportionately to reflect a Purchase Price of NINE HUNDRED NINETY-TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWELVE DOLLARS AND SIXTY THREE CENTS ($992,212.63) per acre (or proportionately for any partial acre) provided that if the Plan of Subdivision identifies the Lands as less than 6.5 acres or more than 7.2 acres. the Purchaser shall have the option to terminate this agreement, and the Deposits then paid shall be returned to the Purchaser forthwith, and this agreement shall be deemed terminated and of no further force or effect.
Motion:
Whereas the Beddington Pentecostal Church board has a desire to move forward and purchase the land located on the corner of Country Hills Blvd. and 11th st. described as lot 3 Block 1, Plan 8910090. NE. Calgary.
Therefore, be it resolved that Beddington Pentecostal Church buy the land located on the corner of Country Hills Blvd. and 11th st. described as lot 3, Block 1, Plan 8910090. NE. Calgary. The land consists of approximately 7 acres at a cost of $992,212.63 an acre. This motion gives the BP Church board the right to agree to the purchase of the land at the cost of $992,212.63 an acre.
